How to setup Node.js and npm for use with Ranorex Webtestit

In order to create TypeScript projects, you will need to have Node.js together with the default package manager npm installed and globally available.

  • Download Node.js min version 7.x.x (for Java projects) or 8.16.x (for TypeScript projects)

  • Follow the instructions of the setup and make sure, if asked, to install the PATH environment variables.

If your /usr/local/bin is not included in the PATH environment variable, you can check how to set it up for macOS and for Linux.

  • Open a terminal/command line after the installation

  • Type node -v and you should receive the installed version of Node.js

  • Type npm -v and you should receive the installed version of npm

  • Restart Ranorex Webtestit
