As you’ve already heard, the brand new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge is here. When you install Microsoft Edge on an up-to-date Windows 10 device, it will replace the previous (legacy) version on your device.
So, if you have any test automation suites to execute using Microsoft Edge as your endpoint, this might be important information for you.
The new version of Edge brings new features and as it is chromium based, you need to implement some additional features to Ranorex Webtestit to be able to use the new version of Edge without any issues.
Currently, the latest supported version of Microsoft Edge in Webtestit is v18363. In other words, you shouldn’t use the latest version of Edge to execute tests on Edge, or you may experience errors as shown in the image below.
Executing tests on Chromium-based Edge is currently not possible with the last released version of Ranorex Webtestit. We have the solution for this in our pipeline and we are working on it to provide support for the latest Edge as soon as possible. So watch out for the next release of Ranorex Webtestit, and stay safe!
